Birmingham Champions Trophy 2018 – Post Event Review

For Raise for Life, 2018 finished with a fantastic cricketing tournament at the world-famous Edgbaston Cricket Indoor Centre, helping to raise over £7,500 (to date)* for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

As with previous years, the standard of cricket went up another level, as all teams gave it their all to become the best team in this 10 over format tournament. Every player strained every sinew in their bodies to try and out class their opponents. However, with fine margins between success and failure, there was one eventual winner – Fighting Flacons – who rose above the rest to named ‘Raise for Life Birmingham Champion Trophy 2018 – Champions!’

For Our Children – For Birmingham Children’s Hospital

However, let’s not forget why some of the best cricket teams in and around Birmingham decided to put it all on the line for a feast of cricketing entertainment on a cold December’s day…

All 8 teams who participated in the tournament agreed to help raise funds for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, so this vital institution can carry on delivering world-class medical care to children across the region and beyond.

The money raised will help the hospital invest in crucial equipment, training and support, which will give the hospital’s staff the tools and skills they need to help children from all walks of life.
