Birmingham Champions Trophy 2016 – Update/Conclusion

Just an update regarding the ‘Birmingham Champions Trophy 2016‘, which was held on the 27th of December.  First we would like to apologise for the untimely nature of this post, as we were waiting on a variety of aspects which were beyond our control. On to the tournament itself………with current England International, Moeen Ali and former Pakistan cricket coach Mushtaq Mohammad (as well as other luminaries) making an appearance, ‘BnQ Cricket Club‘ overcame a number of quality teams to win the ‘Birmingham Champions Trophy 2016’, defeating our 2014 winners ‘CBP Cricket Club‘ in the final, congratulations to them.

The event itself was a huge success, with a fun family atmosphere and a large number of spectators attending, which contributed in making it a vibrant spectacle. Alhumdulilah we managed to raise over £12,000 (final figure to be confirmed) for ‘As Suffa’ Homeless Outreach‘. The money raised will be used to feed Birmingham’s homeless community once a week, for a twelve month period via the aforementioned initiative. We would like to thank our sponsors, the teams, the volunteers and spectators for their contributions during the course of the event, helping to make this an extremely successful and enjoyable experience. Jazak Allahu Khairan.

This concludes Raise for Life’ involvement with this particular initiative. Footage and pics of the ‘Birmingham Champions Trophy 2016‘, can be viewed below. Please keep an eye out for our next charity event, which will be the ‘Regency 10k’ run, details pertaining to this will be posted within a few weeks time.
