Palestine Charity Dinner

The brothers at RFL decided to do a big charity dinner for the people of Gaza. The only problem was none of us had any experience in a charity dinner. The idea was spontaneous but the execution had to be precise and perfect. On a dark freezing evening the event opened its doors and the Royal Banqueting Suite was filling to its capacity very rapidly with well over 600 people. The queue was long and people travelled from far and wide to our amazement, all for the sole purpose of supporting the people of Gaza.
The atmosphere was electric and the event was hosted by the infamous Naeem Raza from Islam Channel. 
Sheikh Zaheer gripped the audience with his passion, Islamic knowledge and his personal love and affection for the Palestinian people. Sheikh Shihab from Interpal outlined the Water Filtration Project with the aid of a video recorded from Gaza. We also had a moving and emotional first-hand account from an Interpal representative who was on the ground. The night also had nasheeds and a massive auction.
MashaAllah we had pledges of £129,000 for the Water Filtration project in Khan Younis in Gaza on that night. The complete project raised in excess of £164,000 Allhumdulillah.
The charity dinner was only an idea, but after taking the first step Allah SWT opened doors for us by putting us in touch with the most generous of people who offered the help and support and that in turn led to everything becoming very easy and a reality. The main thing RFL have learnt is that as long as we stay sincere in our
intention, try our best and be fully committed to the cause and put our trust in Allah SWT.
The point of writing this is not for any worldly gain or recognition but only to motivate, inspire and empower others to help the less fortunate. This was the reason Raise for Life was established.
