‘Gaza Housing Project’ & ‘Orphanage Ramadan Appeal’ Updates

charityFirst and foremost, we would like to thank you for your continued support over the years. Secondly, we would like to give you an update in regards to the total figure raised for the ‘Gaza Housing Project’. Since our last update, we have managed to raise a further £1000, bringing the total figure to £28,587.07 (Jazakallahu Khairan for all of your donations). ‘Raise for Life’ originally started this particular initiative, with the intention of raising funds for housing created via prefabricated means, basically a movable structure with sub-assemblies (water pumps, drainage, fixtures etc.) being added once the structure was in place. Originally being constructed in Turkey and transported to Gaza. One of these houses has already been built and is currently being occupied by a displaced family (may Allah SWT accept your efforts, Ameen).

Unfortunately due to certain restrictions and escalating costs, the additional constructions could not be built via this method. Instead a decision was made to look at feasible alternatives in regards to the remaining housing. A solution was found (in conjunction with research provided by the Islamic University of Gaza) that a wooden structure would be more beneficial (in terms of cost effectiveness and time span). The wooden homes are built from materials sourced locally and readily available. Due to the materials being used, the structural plans were amended to build a three storey home for multiple families to reside in, many of which whom are extended families and will also accommodate people with special needs. (*Structural pictures below). We have been assured by ‘Interpal’ that the new wooden housing will be an even better build of quality and a more long term solution.

If you require further information in regards to this matter, please contact us via email, social media or by contacting your local ‘Raise for Life’ representative directly.

Pertaining to our ‘Orphanage Ramadan Appeal’ (working with ‘Orphans in Need’ to raise money supporting orphans). The 20th of August, 2015 will mark an end to this initiative, so if you have any further donations to come in, please do so before the aforementioned date, as the ‘Just Giving’ website is set to close during this time. We will be posting an update regarding this appeal within the next few weeks, so please keep an eye out.

Finally, thank you again for helping us make a difference in the lives of many destitute individuals around the world. Without your support, none of this would be possible.
